Back in the early 2000’s when founder Kelly Kearney purchased Pacific Fine Food, Alameda Point was a ghost town. The U.S. Navy had recently vacated the land and only a handful of companies were here. We catered for zillions of automotive companies who came to rent the former runways to test drive new cars like including Acura, BMW, Buick, Chrysler, Chevy, Dodge, Honda, Jeep, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Toyota & Volvo. Today our client list (links to new list) has diversified and includes several of the largest companies in the East Bay and beyond including Clif Bar, Kaiser Permanente, The Port of Oakland, UC Berkeley, and a teeny group of 500 Park Rangers from the East Bay Parks Department!
At first, most of the kitchen staff were mommies re-entering the work force. Today those moms are still here—and so are their kids! In fact, many of front of house staff are closely related to our chefs and prep cooks. Our headquarters is filled with funny signs but you won’t find one that says “Your Mom doesn’t work here, so clean up after yourself!” We rise and shine at 5 am to brew coffee and make our famous cranberry walnut scones served with homemade strawberry jam and head home at dusk.
Our 5,000 square foot kitchen routinely receives glowing inspections from the FDA and all of our kitchen staff has received HACCP training. We have an organic herb garden on-site along with beehives and a Hula Grill on our lanai.
Our view across the SF bay.
No, we never get tired of it.
